Know Thine Enemy
Recognizing the fact that embedded Iranian and Syrian agents, working to create further upheaval in Iraq, has ultimately been hampered by a policy of slapping fingers only in the past, the President has finally authorized the hands of the enemy be cut off instead. It's about time.
Iran is not giving up or giving in when it comes to dealing with the rest of the world. They laugh at those that would hamper their efforts to become a super power. Sanctions will not stop them, merely slow down the pace of developing nuclear weapons and the technology to be able to strike without impunity. They are taking a hard line and the only means to deal with that kind of policy is to meet them with the same.
Democratic leaders who think that pulling out of Iraq will enable us to play patty-cake with Iran and Syria diplomatically thereby resolving our differences should think again. These two countries are not playing at winning, they are quite comfortable taking any avenue that is available to them to further their interests toward the demise of the westernized world in favor of Islamic world domination. Any sign of weakness on our part is an open invitation for them to be emboldened in their approach.
By the President's decision to allow our troops to kill and/or capture these Iranian and Syrian agents a first step towards dealing with them on their own terms has begun. Hopefully, that decision hasn't come too late in the game for us.
