NSA Leak Probe Begins

Whisperers beware.

Telling secrets has been done by high government officials in all branches of our government for years. But telling security secrets during a time when security is a high priority and that could have an adverse affect with on-going investigations into terrorist activity is another matter. The Justice Department has announced that they will begin investigating to find the party or parties responsible for the NSA leak to the New York Times.

I for one, welcome it. I am not alone in this thinking. Protecting all of our people by using intelligence gathering methods to ensure national security is critical and should not be hindered by outside sources or from those within.

What is really irritating to me is this story has been leaked by an "official on condition of anonymity". So much for the Justice Department being able to investigate and have the luxury of the element of surprise to do so. It's about time that all leaks are stopped and anyone with something to say has the guts to stand up and own it.
