Hidden Truth?

At least one prominent Democrat said, however, that the indictment could tarnish all of Congress, not just Republicans.

"I'm not certain that voters are sophisticated enough to see this as Republican wrongdoing rather than a crooked Congress," said Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y. "So we have to be very careful how we handle this."

How crooked is Congress? Is the indictment of Texas Republican Tom DeLay justified or is it political retaliation? How hard are Democrats at work in the background to undermine the Republican party and to what lengths will they go to provoke chaos amongst voters in 2008?

Rep. Rangel has a very good point. Regardless of how "sophisticated" voters are, there is a point that comes when finger-pointing in extreme will backfire. Political leaders on both side need to take a hard look at themselves, listen to their constituents, and remember what finger-pointing has cost them in credibility, in the last two elections.
