No Justice Here

Edgar Ray Killen, a Klansman convicted of manslaughter, released on bond...

"They checked me through the line like a cattle auction," he said. "I'm very unhappy with the treatment I've received."

"...he had to bribe a convict to obtain a pillow."

"I can barely sleep," he said. "I still don't understand how I could lie in severe pain for 24 hours and no one even brings me an aspirin. I'm not a drug addict."

But what of the two men whose deaths he was involved with, who were killed without mercy, and who were put in an earthen dam to rot? They were the true victims here. Their families have suffered many years to see justice served.

Not a callous, self-centered racist belly-aching about his arthritis.
